We begin with the letter 'a.' In cursive handwriting, every single letter begins from the line. The children will find later on that the letter 'a' is similar to the letter 'c' and indeed a 'c' is what the children need to begin with. The tail of the 'a' returns to the line. Children should not join the 'a' to another letter across the top otherwise it looks like an 'o.'
The sheets to the right of this video were used with my class after realising that the formation of their 'a' was not quite accurate. Please feel free to use either sheet and to modify the Word Document for your own use. |
