Early Morning Work
Every morning at approximately 8:55am, thousands of children in the United Kingdom enter their classrooms to begin the school day. Often, once or twice a week the children will answer the register and go straight into assembly or collective worship. On the remaining days, the children will be given opportunities to get stuck straight into an activity. Early Morning Activities stimulate the mind for the first 10-15 minutes of each day. The work may take the shape of 'finishing off' previous work, reading through comments left in exercise books by the teacher, acting on targets, or maths/literacy based activities.
