The Piano - Examples of Writing

Example 1
Whilst thoughts rushed swiftly through his mind, the lonesome man tapped his fingers gently on each key. Soothingly, the music reminded him of his past memories however unfortunately the music only made him remember the sombre, sad and depressing memories.
Sorrow ran through him. Suddenly he felt another key being lightly tapped, he turned slightly and to his surprise, there was a ghostly figure. It was his wife. Looking over, he noticed his wife's smooth weightless kiss on his cheek. In the blink of an eye... she had disappeared. Alone. In the dark... Suddenly, he felt a burst of energy rush through his mind. He remembered the war when he was in the army, as a medic, with his brother who had passed away. A stream of guilt rippled through him. His brother was dead. Why him?
Abruptly, his mind travelled instantly to him as a diminuitive little boy. Vast memories appeared in his mind and mysteriously, he reminded himself of when he received his favourite prized possession- his hobby horse. More and more memories came back, the excitable memories of when he was riding his horse but the sadder memories of when he passed down the horse to his grandson. However, just then, this was replaced with happiness as he realised how it was being treated.
His grandson spotted him in sight and joined him by his side to play the last note of the tune. How fortunate to have an amazing grandson.
Example 2
Deliberately not stopping, the old man was playing his piano meanwhile letting his uncontrollable imagination run wildly free. Suddenly... another hand wanted to join his. Carefully moving his hand, he continued to play in his own loneliness. Longing to stop, a memory rapidly uncovered itself and the man's fingers stuck to the piano keys. He soon saw a ghostly figure sitting next to him. Realising the gentle face of his wife, he smiled and let her play. She romantically moved her smooth, silky face to his and gave a gentle kiss goodbye...
Mysteriously, another memory forced its way into the old man's mind. Rapidly, he was running into a battlefield with his brother. Gunshots, blood, explosions...STOP... with tear rolling from his eyes and down his cheek, the grandfather bravely went to save his brother. By this point, his brother was lying helplessly and motionless in a pool of midnight red. Upsettingly, the brother was dead... left to rot in the darkness.
When the old man returned to his piano, he yet again, found a memory begging to be realised. When he saw what the memory was, it was too late. He became younger and younger and happier and happier. At last, it stopped... He visualised himself on a horse mucking about and then... it was gone. He had got older and given his horse to his grandson.
The boy whizzed up and down majestically like the wind. The memory faded and became a reality as the young boy came and sat next to his grandfather. The tune came to an end and the small boy played the last note of the fantastic tune...
