W Words & Common Errors

Strangely, many of the misspelt words I come across when I'm marking begin with 'W.' I have a feeling that this a problem shared by many children as a result of the sound made at the beginning. Some of the words that begin with a 'w' sound like they should be followed by a 'h' and others don't even start with a 'w' sound at all. Below the 'w' words are a selection of sentences that use the most commonly misspelt words- these are very often homophones or misspelt because of how we talk.
what

They’re going over there for their lunch.
